The

Leadership in Bioengineering Medal

Honoring Bioengineering’s

Influential Pioneers

Leadership in bioengineering often goes unrecognized. Public attention rarely follows the policies and institutional work that bring life-saving innovations to patients worldwide.

The Susan S. Margulies Leadership in Bioengineering Medal formally recognizes sustained leadership in bioengineering and encourages broader contributions from academia, industry, government, and philanthropic foundations. The honor is the first ASME award named after a female biomedical engineer. The medal bears Dr. Susan S. Margulies’ name and holds recipients to the same career hallmark: outstanding service to the profession.

An
$85,000 endowment

establishes the medal and secures its annual presentation at the ASME Summer Bioengineering Conference.

Your support ensures vital contributions to the field are recognized year after year.
