Public Policy

For the past 44 years, ASME Federal Fellowships have been providing a valuable public service to the nation while offering ASME members the unique opportunity to participate directly in the policy-making process.

Our Fellows serve at the White House, a Federal Agency or in the US Congress for one-year terms, providing them with the opportunity to offer non-partisan technical advice to elected officials who often have limited engineering and scientific backgrounds.

Key Advisors

ASME Federal Government Fellows have distinguished themselves as key advisors to the government in areas such as: Clean Energy; Advanced Manufacturing; Robotics; Bioengineering; Pressure Technology; Research and Development; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education.  Our Fellows are funded by the ASME Foundation with each receiving annual stipends plus training and relocation expenses.
