ASME DropMEin! Program is a collaboration with ComEd’s Communities of the Future in Rockford, Illinois and Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and ComEd are proud to empower the next generation of engineers with DropMEin!: a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) initiative that brings engineers and other STEM professionals into elementary and middle school classrooms to enhance curriculum and inspire the future STEM workforce in Illinois.

During the 2023 DropMEin! program, ComEd engineers and professionals shared their STEM journeys and provided real-life, hands-on learning and open dialogues about power distribution, energy sustainability and STEM career paths.

At Bronzeville Classical Elementary School in Chicago, 5th grade student Elijah Bedenfield wrote his resume for ComEd’s consideration and submitted it to ComEd at a field trip at their training center last Spring:
